The Chisos mountains and Chihuahuan Desert in the Big Bend region have always had a special place in my heart. Since I ventured there for the first time in 2018 to attend the Crooked Crow Songwriting Retreat at Chinati Hot Springs, I have found magic, inspiration, and wonder in this special, biodiverse region. It is both rugged yet soft. Both unforgiving and friendly. Every time I visit here, I feel closer to the spirit world.
This March, I decided to adventure to the great beyond to share and write music.
I enjoyed camping out a a place called the "Goat Pens" in Terlingua, which houses an outdoor stage, spaceships, and an epic fire pit. I played a sunset show around the fire.
It was a lot of fun to play at the Rustic Iron BBQ in Terlingua
I took the backroads to the Rio Grande, then sipped Sotol and swapped tunes with my pal Tony.
It was a joy to play music with Jerome on the Terlingua porch.
I played a dreamy show at Spicewood Circle 7 in Alpine. What a beautiful carpet!
